You can visit the former Not My Desk site by clicking here.
The essay and field guide links may be down from time to time as I do some editing and figure out what’s going to be in the book and what won’t. The archives and features are still viewable.

Nice site!
I just got my first book published – I feel for you, it isn’t easy.
Check out my site and let me know if I can help you with anything.
(Pay it forward, I guess)

Hey Chris, Long time reader here, I LOVE your site and I’m glad your back. I thought that maybe you had died or something. I will definiltly be checking in more often. I am so going to buy the book when it comes out, can’t wait. Could you put in the essay ‘this is not a test’ and the rant about pepper? Those were some of my favorites. Anyways thanks for coming back.
Mega Shark VS Giant Octopus is the funniest thing i have read in a long time, i was at work trying to secretly read it and i couldnt control my self, awesome work. i came here from nondrick and im loving it. cant wait for the book

Who Moved My Cheese
This was the funniest summary of a book that I have ever read. I was laughing out loud at the library and I didn’t even care if the girl on the opposite side of the table was shooting me the evil eye- it was just too great!
There was one typo…in case you wanted to fix…under the header- Movement in a New Direction Helps You Find New Cheese- check out the second paragraph- Regarding the writings on the wall..”Hem” is used when it should be “Haw.”
Thanks for the laugh!
I’ve seen this site a while ago and I’d randomly visit, even though it wasn’t updated. I love this site, and I’m glad to re-visit old pages. I can’t wait for your book! :D

Hi there, While browsing the net I came across a series of articles written by “not my desk” for the henchmen hall of fame and would like to know if we can link the articles to our website (www.cultofvhs.com) which will not be up and running til the end of october. We plan to cover reviews of films old and new, and also most things film related. music, magazines, fan stuff etc. The articles really capture the same style that we have and we would love to link you guys and hopefully build a relationship.
let me know what you think

Hi, I used to read your site several millennia ago and now I have finally come over from the 0.0000001% of the population who didn’t have internet at home I can catch up on what you’ve been writing!
I too have started writing a blog, well more a rant on how I interpret the world and people in it with whom I’m forced to interact. I might try to put up my own site containing these!
You actually make it seem really easy along with your presentation but I to find this matter to be actually something that I believe I would never understand. It kind of feels too complicated and extremely broad for me. free christmas guide
Excellent article. I felt your post was truly fascinating. Thanks!
